Od prijatelja i saradnika Ištvana Filea dobili smo lep tekst i puno fotografija lepih pastrmki ulovljenih ovog leta u Kanadskim vodama.

Ribolovci: Moj dobar prijatelj iz Mađarske, Ištvan Prokay i ja – Ištvan File. On je proveo odmor u BC, Kanada, a zajedno smo ribarili oko 2 nedelje. Ovo mušičarenje i putovanje u Kanadu je bio moj „godišnji odmor“.
Idemo tamo svakog leta.

Reke: Mesto je u planini kanadskim Rockies Mountain. „Glavni“ grad ovog područja je Fernie. On je baza mušičarima. Mnogo hotela, motela, restorana i naravno ribarskih radnji je tamo. Kroz ovaj grad teče poznato reka Elk River. Mušičarenje suvom muhom je bilo izvrsno na njoj! Druga poznata reka na ovom području je (moj favorit voda) Wigwam River.Ova reka se u ovo doba godine puni s Bull trouts. Ove lepe ribe se ovde love vekovima kada ulaze na mrest. Pre mresta su promenili boju. Postaju boje narandže i gotovo crvene. Wigwan reka je samo za Flyfishing i C&R ribolov! Mnogi ribari ovde dolaze iz celog sveta da love. Popularno je loviti ih, ali nije lako, jer ako želite loviti na ovoj rijeci, trebate se dugo i teško penjati i hodati. su deo obitelji Char (Zlatovčice). Osim Bull trout, u reci ima puno velikih (40-50cm) cutthroat pastrmki koje takođe žive ovde.

Oprema i pribor: Mi obično koristimo dva štapa. Jedan 8# za bull pastrmke i drugi 9′-10′ 5# za cutthroat pastrmke. Naša oprema, štap i rola su:

Bull pastrmke: Štap je G-Loomis Experience 8#, 9′ i rola Tibor Light Back Country, struna je Vision Attack WF-9I, full clear intermediate line, tippet 0,30mm Stroft GTM. Drugi je Custom (Ručno rađen) Batson RX8 8#, 9′, a rola je Billy Pate bonefish, line-tippet kao gore

Cutthroat pastrmke: Custom izgrađen Batson RX7, 5#, 8’6″ i rola Shimano Ultegra, Wullf Presentation line, tippet 0,20mm Stroft GTM. Drugi je štap Vision GTfour 5#,10′ i rola Shimano Ultegra, struna Airflo Ridgeline WF5-F, predvez 0,18mm Stroft GTM.

Muhe:
Bull pastrmke: veliki, 18-20cm egg.suck, leeches, od zonker trake s velikim očima od olova, narančaste boje glave. Crna, tamno plava, ljubičasta i tamno „mišije siva“ s nekim upadljivim stvarima (flashabou, anđeska kosa, itd. .) To je sve, jednostavno i lepo! Takođe dobro rade velike tamne nimfe stonefly (kamenjarka) – veličine 4-6#

Cutthroat pastrmke. Elk hair kedis (veličine 8-14#), CDC muhe (veličine 14-18#), veliki polifoam skakavci (veličine 4-8#). Mnogo različitih nimfi radi jako dobro na ovoj vodi.

Taktika: Ribolov je jednostavan. Zabačaj (Cast), drift, Kontra i kačenje (hookset), zamaranje, privođenje, merenje, slikanje, puštanje. Ako jedu muhe s površine, bacimo muhu 1m pre ribe uzvodno i drift dry fly je nosi ribi u usta. Ovakav tip ribolova – „Na viđeno“ je vrlo spektakularan. Većina riba je 60-70cm. Nekoliko riba je bilo 73-82cm. The Cutthroat su bile manje 35-40-47cm.
Težina je nepoznata, jer nijednu nismo vagali. Nas ne interesuje težina, već samo dužina ribe.

The anglers: My good friend from Hungary, Istvan Prokay and me Istvan File. He spent his holiday in BC,we was fish together over 2 weeks.This flyfishing trip is my „annual holiday“.We going back there every summer.

The river: Location is in the Canadian Rockies Mountain. The „capital“ city of this area is Fernie.This is the base of flyfishermans.Many hotels,motels,restaurants and of course flyshop is there.In this city flows trough the famous Elk river.The dry fly fishing is excellent!
Another famous river in this area is (my personal favourite water) the Wigwam river.The river, this time of the year full with bull trouts.This beautiful fish come up here for spawning.Before spawning they are change the colour.The spawning colour orange and almost red.The Wigwan only flyfishing and C&R river!Many fisherman come here from around the world for the bull trout.Popular but not busy because if you want to fish on this river,you need take a long and hard hiking.The bull trout is member of the Char family. Beside the bull trout,lots of big (40-50cm) cutthroat trout live  here too.

The equipment: We usually use two rod.One 8# 9′ for bull trout,another one 9′-10′ 5#  for cutthroat. Our rod and reel was:

Bull trout: G-Loomis Experience 8#,9′ and Tibor Light Back Country,Vision Attack WF-9 I,full clear intermediate line,0,30mm Stroft GTM tippet. Custom built Batson RX8 8#,9′ and Billy Pate Bonefish reel, line-tippet same like above.

Cutthroat: Custom built Batson RX7 5#,8’6″ and Shimano Ultegra reel,Wullf Presentation line,0,20mm Stroft GTM. Vision GT 5#,10′ and Shimano Ultegra reel,Airflo Ridgeline WF5-F,0,18mm Stroft GTM.

The flies:
Bull: big,18-20cm egg.suck.leeches,from zonker strip with big lead eyes,orange head.The colours is black,dark blue,purple and dark „mouse grey“ with some flashy stuff (flashabu,angel hair,etc.)Thats all,simple and great!Also works well the big dark stonefly nymphs(size 4-6)

Cutthroat:Elkhair Caddys(size.8-14),CDC flies(size14-18),big polifoam hoppers(size 4-8).Many different nymphs works very well too.

The fishing is simple.Cast,drift,hookset,fight,landing,measuring,picture,release 🙂 Or if the cutties are eat from the surface,we cast the fly before 1m and dead drift dryfly go into the fish mouth.This „Sight fishing“,very spectacular.

Most of the fish was 60-70cm.Few fish was 73-82cm.The cutties was 35-40-47cm. The weight unknown.We have not interest the weight,we only take the measure from the length.
